Key Achievements:

• Implemented an AI-powered knowledge base chatbot, trained on company technical documents, to enable staff self-service for technical queries, reducing direct questions to the team by 50%, resulting in measurable productivity gains.

• Developed and delivered technical training programs, boosting team capability and customer satisfaction scores.

• Migrated all project management to Monday.com, centralizing communication and documentation, enabling clear assignment and tracking of tasks and deadlines, increasing staff accountability, and increasing on-time task completion by 70%. 

New Product Development Manager | July 2017 to December 2024

• Directed project management for all company initiative Agile and traditional methods, planning 24 months of development work, enabling precise budget forecasting, company-wide target setting, and full transparency on strategic decisions.

• Spearheaded the development of innovative products, contributing to Selo’s market leadership and 30% growth in UK market share (as of 2024).

• Achieved a UK first in 2024 by leading the design and certification of an electro-mechanical smoke control damper, securing CE safety approval to EN12101-8.

• Engineered complex sheet metal components and assemblies, balancing high performance with cost efficiency to support both product quality and profitability.

Lead Production Engineer, Scientifica | September 2016 to June 2017

 A specialist UK manufacturer of cutting-edge multi-photon microscopes for neuroscience research. Oversaw the production facility to reduce errors and increase efficiency.

• Using six sigma, the entire production process was analysed to identify the root cause of the largest bottlenecks and causes or error.

Low quality supplier drawings, inefficient testing protocols and out-dated stock management software were identified. After changes had been made,  

product build times reduced by 30 – 50%. Recurring issues declined by 30%.

• Led an internal task force to modernise the production department, implementing modern manufacturing methods, DFM and DFA, communication and reporting standards.

Cost price reductions were seen across all lines. Average employee “Good feel index” increased 10 points, 3 months after implementation.

Pioneering adaptive optics technologies to have a profound impact on the future of eyewear. Part of a design team developing an affordable, adjustable strength pair of glasses for developing nations who do not have access to opticians.

• Working in Malaysia, China and Taiwan on new plastic injection moulded part tooling and the commissioning of assembly lines.
